Time is critical. A knocked-out tooth can often be saved if you see an emergency dentist within 30 to 60 minutes. Call us immediately and keep the tooth in milk.

Swelling, fever, or a pimple on your gum near a tooth are signs of a dental abscess. This is a serious infection that needs urgent treatment — do not delay.
A lost filling or crown exposes a vulnerable tooth to bacteria and pain. We can replace it the same day to protect the tooth and relieve discomfort.
Swelling spreading to the jaw, neck, or face is a sign of a serious dental infection. Call us immediately or go to the nearest emergency room if swelling is severe.

Apply a cold pack wrapped in cloth to the outside of your cheek for 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off. This reduces swelling and numbs pain.
Rinse gently with water. Do not scrub the root. Place the tooth back in the socket if possible, or store it in milk or saliva. See us within 60 minutes for the best chance of saving it.
Do not chew on the painful side. Avoid very hot, cold, or sweet foods that can worsen sensitivity until you are seen.
Ibuprofen (Advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol) can help temporarily. Follow dosage instructions. Do not place aspirin directly on the gum — this can burn tissue.
